Mr. Blanco is a seasoned law practitioner with almost two decades of international and local experience in such diverse fields as corporate and commercial law, foreign investments, property development, labor law, and intellectual property. He has acted as legal counsel to an international hotel chain and his fostering of good relations with the local labor union resulted in a dramatic 85 % reduction in labor disputes. He assisted in the protection and enforcement of the intellectual property rights of such well-known marks in the luxury goods, apparel, and other industries. He likewise served as legal advisor in connection with, among many others, the acquisition by local investment groups of publicly-listed companies, the construction of the newest Manila-based airport terminal, the billion-peso privatization of a public utility, the establishment of the Philippine subsidiary of a Silicon Valley-based technology company, the negotiation and conclusion of a joint venture for the financing and construction of a multi-use building within the Bonifacio Global City development, cross-border corporate structuring in different tax haven jurisdictions, preparation of licensing and software-based mobile banking service agreements for a multinational IT services group, legal consultation services for the Philippine operations of the foremost multinational BPO group, the negotiation of territorial development and franchise agreements, etc. As then Chairman of the Committee on Banks of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc., he likewise drafted the Arbitration Rules for Banking Disputes and has conducted lectures in the fields of arbitration and intellectual property disputes.
